Why This Exists

Colonization is not just a historical event. It is a structure that lives in our institutions, our relationships, in the way we see the world. Decolonizing the world is a long and ardous process, that only truly suceeds when we tackle it from the ground up. To decolonize the world is to first decolonize the mind. To heal, we must first recognize what we've inherited, absorbed, and implicitly perpetuated.

A Digital Confessional

This archive is a space to say the things you can't admidt outloud. It is a place where you can be fully and truly vulnerable about how colonialism has shaped your thinking. Here you can externalize whatever it is that you are unlearning. In exchange for your honesty, the archive hopes to give you catharsis. In exhange for your most difficult thoughts, the archive hopes to show you community.

A Living Archive

We are building a record of the intangible impacts of colonization. This is not for academic study, but for collective recognition. To see your own struggle reflected in a stranger's handwriting is a powerful antidote to isolation. To see how many of us have grappled with the same issues, serves to highlight the absurdity of our absorbed frameworks and the need to create new ones in their stead.
